New Commanding Officers take command of trio of SLN ships
Three new Commanding Officers namely, Commander Chamila Rajapaksha, Commander Shantha Ambanwala and Lieutenant Commander Induwara Dharmarathne took command of SLNS Abeetha II, SLNS Ranawickrama and SLNS Ranawijaya respectively on 04th August 2020.
Incidentally, the former Commanding Officers of these ships, Commander Chandana Pawuluge (SLNS Abeetha II), Commander Ruwan Edirisinghe (SLNS Ranawickrama) handed over duties to their successors at the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee. Meanwhile, Commander Eranda Wickramasinghe (Commanding Officer SLNS Ranawijaya) relinquished duties to vacate his appointment to the newly appointed Commanding Officer, at the Kankesanthurai harbour.
The formal ceremonies held at Naval Dockyard Trincomalee were attended by Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, Rear Admiral Bandara Jayathilaka, whereas the Deputy Area Commander Northern Naval Area was present at the duty handing over ceremony held at the Kankesanthurai harbour.
