Commander of the Navy calls on Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne called on Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva at the Army Headquarters today (21^st July 2020). The Navy Commander was warmly received according a special Guard of Honour upon his arrival and this turned out to be the first meeting between the top brass of the Army and Navy after Vice Admiral Ulugetenne assumed office as the 24^th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy.

The Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander, while extending his best wishes to the Commander of the Navy on his deserved promotion, pledged his unwavering support to the Sri Lanka Navy in future endeavours. The event was attended by Director Generals and a host of senior officers of the Army. Mementoes were also exchanged to mark the importance of this occasion.
