Navy receives donation of Rs 2.3 million to set up Reverse Osmosis plant at Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital
The Kiwanis Club of Colombo City and District Grand Lodge of Sri Lanka today (08th July 2020) made a donation worth Rs 2.3 million to the social responsibility fund of the Sri Lanka Navy with a view to set up a Reverse Osmosis plant at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.
The aim of this donation was to set up a Reverse Osmosis plant at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for the benefit of patients receiving treatment from the hospital as well as hospital staff. Accordingly, the Rs 2.3 million worth donation was made by the Kiwanis Club of Colombo City (Rs. 800,000) and District Grand Lodge of Sri Lanka (Rs. 1,500,000) to the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva at the Naval Headquarters. A group of representatives from both organizations were also present on this occasion.
Being a key partner in the national effort of the eradication of the chronic kidney disease from the country, the Navy will continue to undertake similar social responsibility programmes in the future as well.
