Artillery and mortar ammunition recovered in Nedunkerni reserve, Trincomalee

A few artillery and mortar ammunition were recovered during a joint search operation conducted by Navy with the Police STF, at the Nedunkerni reserve in Trincomalee, on 02^nd July 2020.

Accordingly, naval personnel of Eastern Naval Command together with Police STF-Sardhapura recovered 01 multi barrel ammo (partially damaged), 01 mortar ammo (81mm) and 01 120mm artillery ammo (projectile), during a search operation conducted at the Nadunkerni reserve in Trincomalee.

These heavy ammunition are believed to be used at the humanitarian operations and further investigation is conducted by Police STF-Sardhapura.
