Navy disposes anti-personnel mine recovered in Kokilai

An anti-personnel mine recovered by the Navy in Kokilai area, was safely disposed on 30^th May 2020.

This anti-personnel mine was recovered at a location 150m off the Naval Detachment-Kokilai on information received from a civilian. Later on, the mine was safely disposed by a team of naval personnel attached to the Bomb Disposal Unit of SL Navy. It is suspected that the mine to be an abandoned one by the LTTE during the humanitarian operations.
