SLNS ‘Samudura’ provides fuel for stranded fishing vessels
Sri Lankan multiday fishing vessels driven away to the seas off Indonesia by the effect of inclement weather caused by the Amfan cyclonic storm, are now heading towards the island under the assistance of SLNS ‘Samudura’ and the fishing vessels are provided fuel by the ship, today (23rd May 2020).
Accordingly, SLNS Samudura is on her passage with Sri Lankan multiday fishing vessels which have been driven away to the seas off Indonesia by the Amfan cyclonic, providing them with the necessary assistance. Since the returning fishing vessels faced shortage of fuel at the seas off 450 nautical miles, those vessels named Sadewmi 04, Sanu Putha 01, Madhusanka 01, Sayuri 06, Ran Putha 09 and Sapna 08 were provided with fuel for their course of return to the land.
Further, SL Navy is taking care of these returning multiday trawlers which are more than 30 in number, while providing them with all necessary assistance until they reach ashore safely.
