Person with Kerala cannabis nabbed with Navy’s assistance

The Navy nabbed a person with Kerala cannabis, during a coordinated search carried out with the Divisional Vice Squad of Trincomalee in Gopalpuram area on 19^th May 2020.

Sri Lanka Navy has been continuously conducting its operations to curb illegal trafficking of drugs in the country. Accordingly, naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command in coordination with the Divisional Vice Squad of Trincomalee conducted this search in Gopalpuram area and managed to apprehend a person with 150g Kerala cannabis stashed in a house.

The apprehended person had been identified as a 39 year old resident of the same locality. The accused along with Kerala cannabis was handed over to the Nilaveli Police for onward action.
