Sri Lanka Red Cross Society joined with ‘Hiru Sahana Yathra’ programme donates stock of PPE to Navy
Sri Lanka Red Cross Society joining hands with ‘Hiru Sahana Yathra’ programme donated a stock of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Navy at the Naval Headquarters, today (19th May 2020). These items are expected to be used in programmes which are undertaken by the Navy in view of arresting the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
The Navy is receiving material aids from various agencies and organizations for the programmes being undertaken by it to control the spread of COVID-19 in the country. It is in this backdrop, the Navy has been provided with a stock of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), by Sri Lanka Red Cross Society under the ‘Hiru Sahana Yathra’ programme. Representative of Central Governing Board (CGB) of SLRCS and Colombo District Secretary of SLRCS Dr. Amila Kankananda, members of SLRCS and team members of ‘Hiru Sahana Yathra’ programme were present on this occasion.
Meanwhile, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, receiving the stock of aids to the Navy, expressed his gratitude to the members of SLRCS and team members of ‘Hiru Sahana Yathra’ programme for their worthy contribution to the Navy in this hour of need.
