Navy assists to apprehend cannabis hidden in three wheeler

A haul of cannabis which was hidden in a three wheeler, was apprehend during a operation carried out by Navy in coordination with Police STF, in Kudaoya area on 16^th May 2020.

SL Navy is continuing its operations to prevent illegal drug smuggling while contributing in the campaigns to control pandemic over the country. Accordingly, during a search operation conducted by Navy in coordination with Police STF-Sooriyawewa, in Kudaoya area, being noticed the presence of Navy, rider of a three wheeler escaped abandoning it. Then, the suspicious three wheeler was searched and found 01kg and 345g of cannabis there. The amount of cannabis and three wheeler were taken into custody.

In search of the escaped suspect, raids have been got underway. Recovered cannabis and the three wheeler were handed over to Kudaoya Police for onward investigation.
