Navy assists to apprehend two persons with crystal methamphetamine

Two persons with crystal methamphetamine (ICE) drug were apprehended by Sri Lanka Navy during a joint operation conducted with SL Police in Kinniya area, on 15^th May 2020.

Sri Lanka Navy which contributes the national effort of drug eradicating in a great deal, has been carrying out many operations to avert the drug trafficking and to bring the suspects for legal prosecution. Such an anti drug operation was carried out by naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command in coordination with the Kinniya Police, in Kinniya area. During the raid, two suspicious persons travelling on a motor bike were observed and by searching them 02g and 500mg of crystal methamphetamine (ICE) packed in 15 packets were found in their possession. Accordingly, two persons with the amount of heroin and motor bike were apprehended. .

The suspects are residents of the same area, aged 27 and 31. Further investigation on the suspects, amount of crystal methamphetamine (ICE) and motor bike, are conducted by Kinniya Police.
