International Lions Club in joint hands with ITN donate face masks and PPE to Navy required for fight against COVID-19

A stock of face masks and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which are required to use in programmes undertaken by the Navy in view of arresting the spread of COVID-19 in the country, was donated to the Navy by International Lions Club in joint hands with Independent Television Network, at the Naval Headquarters today (13th May 2020).

A number of programmes are being undertaken by the Navy to control the spread of COVID-19 in the country under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva and Navy is receiving a range of material aids from various agencies and organizations for these campaigns. In this backdrop, International Lions Club in collaboration with Independent Television Network handed over this stock of face masks and PPE to the Navy. Mr. Arjuna Abesinghe and Mr.Pathmasiri Ranawakaarachchi representing International Lions Club and the Chairman of ITN Sri Lanka Mr. Sudath Rohana, Deputy General Manager(progm.) ITN Mr. Sarath kumara Perera, Manager Channel Promotions Mr. Geethika Vitharana along with staff members of ITN were present on this occasion.

Meanwhile, Commander of the Navy, receiving the stock of aids, expressed his gratitude to International Lions Club and ITN Sri Lanka for making this worthy donation to Sri Lanka Navy in this crucial time.
