Navy recovers the dead body of a drowned person

Navy carried out a diving operation in search of a person who had drowned and gone missing in Muthukandiya reservoir in Monaragala, on 12^th May 2020 and recovered the dead body of the missing person.

Responding to a request of Govindupura Police seeking the assistance of the Navy to find the dead body of a 63 year old person of Muthukandiya fisheries village who had gone on fishing in the Muthukandiya reservoir and gone missing by drowning his canoe, Sri Lanka Navy dispatched a team of navy divers attached to the Southeastern Naval Command, to the location.

Accordingly, navy diving team was able to recover the dead body of the person and it was handed over to Govindupura Police for further investigation.
