“Sunhill” hotel, Seeduwa handed over to Navy for providing accommodation facility to Naval personnel
The 23-room hotel “Sunhill” in Seeduwa, owned by the Sunhill group of companies Pvt Ltd, temporarily handed over to the Sri Lanka Navy for providing accommodation to naval personnel, today (02nd May 2020).
With arising of COVID-19 as a global pandemic situation in Sri Lanka too, all services combined with tourism industry has gone non-operational. Under such an environment and in this hour of need, according to a decision taken by Mr. Surendra Wasantha Perera, the Chairman Sunhill group of companies, to assists the accommodation facilities of the naval personnel keeping social distance, “Sunhill” hotel was temporarily handed over to the Navy at the Light House Galley premises, Colombo, today.
On behalf of the Commander of the Navy, the occasion was attended by Director General Administration Rear Admiral Sudath Kurukulasooriya. Senior Naval officers, other officers, Chairman of Sunhill group of companies Pvt.Ltd and a group of their officials were also present on the occasion.
Director General Administration extended his gratitude to the Sunhill group of companies Pvt. Ltd for this act of generosity on this challenging time. Further, once the prevailing situation in the country is over, the hotel will be sterilized following the international standards and handed over to the company to resume operations.
