Navy recovers unexploded 155mm Artillery Shell
An unexploded 155mm artillery shell was recovered by Navy in the shallow seas off Nachchikuda beach area, Mannar, on 01st May 2020.
Naval personnel attached to the North central Naval Command, whilst on coastal observation, had spotted a suspicious object in the shallow seas off Nachchikuda beach area and by further search with the assistance of diving sailors attached to the command, recovered a corroded 155mm artillery shell. It is believed that the recovered shell might have been used during the humanitarian operations. For further investigation, it was handed over to Police STF in Kilinochchiya through Mulankavil Police Station.
