Five persons with Kerala cannabis apprehended by Navy-Police joint raid

The Navy, during a coordinated operation conducted with Police apprehended 05 suspects with Kerala cannabis, at Selvanagar area in Thopoor, Trincomalee on 01^st May 2020.

SL Navy while contributing in the coronavirus containment process, also continues the drug prevention operations in the seas and on the land. Accordingly, during a coordinated search operation conducted by Naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command with the Muthoor Police, apprehended 05 persons with 8.1g of Kerala cannabis which were being carried for sale. .

The apprehended persons have been identified as residents of Trincomalee, Thopoor, Kavantissapura, seruwila and Colombo areas, aged 21 to 36. Further investigation on the suspects and amount of Kerala cannabis is conducted by Muthoor Police.
