People confined to homes in Rajagiriya rejoiced in entertainment provided by Navy
Authorities have declared certain districts in the island as high risk areas for the spread of new coronavirus. Stepping in to provide some respite to the people confined at apartments under self-quarantine in Colombo district, the Navy on 05th April 2020 commenced several musical programmes in a bid to lift their spirits.
Augmenting the government’s efforts to lift the spirits of people confined to their residences following the looming threat of novel coronavirus, this series of entertainment events organized by the Navy got underway on 05th of this month, under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva. Thereby, the most recent segment of these entertainment events was held at Clearpoint Residences in Rajagiriya on 18th April 2020.
With the help of popular artist in the country, the Navy was able to provide an evening of entertainment to the people in those areas. On the sidelines of entertainment, those residents were also educated on good hygiene habits as well as social distancing to prevent being infected by the deadly virus.
