Six (06) people directed to quarantine for associating with COVID-19 infected person

The Navy made arrangements to send six (06) people living in Grandpass, Kotahena, Maligawatta and Punchi Borella areas, to quarantine today (16th April 2020). This early action was taken in light of these persons had associated with a COVID-19 infected individual.

Naval intelligence operations have been launched in search of people in Colombo who had close contacts with individuals contracted coronavirus. During a similar operation these 06 individuals from aforesaid areas had been detected by the Navy.

In view of health concerns and safety of the residents in the area, this group was sent to quarantine at the quarantine centre established at the Welisara National Hospital for Respiratory Diseases, after complete decontamination procedures.
