Navy hands over disinfection chamber to Puttalam Police station

A disinfection chamber improvised by Navy as part of its Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) Project was handed over to the Puttalam Police station today (15th April 2020).

The Naval Social Responsibility Project is being operated under direct supervision of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva. Going further step ahead with NSR initiatives, this disinfection chamber developed by Northwestern Naval Command’s Motor Transport Workshop and naval personnel of the Civil Engineering Department of the SLNS Tambapanni was handed over for the use of the Puttalam Police. Apart from sterilizing the police officers attached to the station, the new facility will also be useful to decontaminate people who come to the Police station to get various services done.

Under the NSR Project, the Navy has installed several disinfection chambers at populous locations as of now. In the same vein, the Navy continues to take every possible measure to prevent the spread of new coronavirus in the country.
