Navy apprehends 02 persons with heroin in Puttalam
The Navy held a male (01) and a female (01) in possession of about 06g and 450mg of heroin, during a search conducted in Alankuda area, Puttalam on 13th April 2020.
As part of the Navy’s continuous operations to curb the smuggling of drugs, a group of naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command conducted an operation in Alankuda area, Puttalam and searched a suspicious house. During this investigation, naval personnel managed to find about 06g and 450mg of heroin and money worth about Rs. 40,700.00 in the house. A male and a female in connection to the incident were also taken into naval custody.
The accused are 40 and 50 years of age. Meanwhile, the suspects along with heroin and money were handed over to the Norochcholai Police for onward legal action.
