Navy seizes 03 unauthorized fishing nets in Batticaloa lagoon area

During a patrol conducted in Kotuwamada area today (10^th April 2020), the Navy managed to find 03 unauthorized nets being cast in Batticaloa lagoon.

The Navy regularly conducts operations to safeguard the fisheries and marine resources in waters around Sri Lanka. As an extension of these operations, the Navy managed to seize these 03 unauthorized nets being cast in Batticaloa lagoon.

The unauthorized nets detained by the Navy will be handed over to the Assistant Directorate of Fisheries of Batticaloa for onward action.
