Navy continues to conduct its disinfection programmes at several locations

In its continuous efforts to control the spread of new coronavirus in the country, the Navy conducted several disinfection programmes at Colombo South Teaching Hospital – Kalubowila, Administration Building at the Jaya Container Terminal, Colombo Port and Ministry of National Water Supply and Drainage from 07th to 09th April 2020.

Under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, the Navy has been carrying out a number of disinfection programmes in public places. Accordingly, these disinfection programmes at above locations were carried out by the Navy’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Unit. The CBRN Unit sterilized all premises of said institutions in accordance with proper sterilization guidelines.

Meanwhile, the Navy, as necessary, is ready to carry out similar sterilization programmes in public places to prevent the further spread of the virus.
