Navy conducts a number of disinfection programmes

In order to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus in the country, Sri Lanka Navy conducted a number of disinfection programmes at Puttalam Police Station, Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, and Quarantine Centre established at Zahira College-Puttalam on 5th and 6th April 2020.

On the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva these programmes of sterilization were carried out by Navy’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Unit and sterilization was successfully conducted in accordance with proper guidelines for sanitization and disinfection, in order to control the spread of fatal coronavirus.

Further, to control spread of pandemic virus, Navy is planning to conduct continuous sterilization programmes in public places where people gather for essential needs.
