Two (02) persons held by Navy for breaking curfew in Arugam Bay
The Navy apprehended 02 persons for breaking curfew regulations at the roadblock erected near the junction of Muhudu Maha Vihara, Arugam Bay on 04th April 2020.
As part of a mitigation strategy to minimize the spread of novel coronavirus, an island-wide curfew situation has been imposed for the safety of general public. In such circumstance, a group of naval personnel apprehended these 02 persons at the roadblock erected near the junction of Muhudu Maha Vihara, for travelling by a motorbike during curfew hours. Further investigation revealed that the 02 persons are residents of Pothuvil area. The accused along with their motorbike were handed over to the Pothuvil Police for onward action.
At a time when the spread of new coronavirus has come to a critical stage within the country, the public has to extend their fullest support towards the government's efforts set in motion for the safety of community. Meanwhile, the Navy will continue to take action against those who are irresponsible and reckless in these testing times.
