Navy conducts many programmes at Colombo North Teaching Hospital to control coronavirus

As an extension of the programmes conducted by the Navy to control the spread of coronavirus in the country, several programmes were carried out at Colombo North Teaching Hospital premises in Ragama during past few days.

Under this series of programmes fulfilled on the directives of the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, a programme to provide meals for the doctors and the medical staff engaged in a continuous committed service for the country even disregarding their live threat, was conducted at Ragama Teaching Hospital during last days. Further, the converted area for the treatments of corona virus affected persons, a CCTV system was installed by the Navy enabling the doctors to observe the patients in distance and prescribe the treatments. Moreover, the hospital premises was disinfected for number of days by Navy’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Unit following the standard sterilization procedure.
