Navy apprehends two persons with stock of beef and two other persons for breaching curfew
Navy apprehended two persons with 34kg of beef in two occasions and two persons travelled on a motor bike breaching curfew, during a foot patrol carried out in Arugambay area, today (3rd April 2020).
Sri Lanka Navy conducts continuous patrols in order to apprehend the persons who engage in illegal activities and breach curfew under this curfew situation declared all over the country for controlling the prevailing pandemic condition. Accordingly, a team of naval personnel attached to the Southeastern Naval Command, while on a foot patrol, observed a three wheeler and a motor bike travelling under curfew. By search of them, 27kg of beef in the three wheeler and 07kg of beef on the motor bike which was being transported illegally, was found. Two suspects who were travelling in the three wheeler and on the motor bike were taken into naval custody.
Further, other two persons who were travelling on a motor bike breaching curfew, were also apprehended by the Navy. All suspects are residents of Pothuvil area, aged between 24 -30. The apprehended suspects, stock of beef, three wheeler and 02 motor bikes were handed over to Pothuvil Police for further investigation.
