Person with heroin nabbed by Navy

Sri Lanka Navy apprehended a person with about 40mg of heroin at Mandalkuda area in Kalpitiya, today (01^st April 2020).

While assisting to control the spread of coronavirus in the island, Navy also continuously engage in operations to curb the illegal activities.During such drug prevention operation carried out by the naval personnel attached to the North Western Naval Command, had detected a suspicious house and while search of the house, about 40mg of heroin which was being made ready for sale, was found. Accordingly, an amount of 40mg heroin along with a suspect was taken into naval custody.

The suspect is 33 years old person and he along with the amount of heroin was handed over to the Kalpitiya Police for further investigation.
