Person in possession of crystal methamphetamine held by Navy

The Navy apprehend a suspect with crystal methamphetamine (ice), in a search operation conducted at Karamba in Palaviya on 31^st March 2020.

The Sri Lanka Navy has been a major contributor of the crackdowns on narcotics and had had been able to produce a number of drug traffickers for legal action. Accordingly, a group of naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command had conducted a search operation in Karamba area in Palaviya on 31^st March 2020 and nabbed a suspect with 2g and 310mg of crystal methamphetamine, while searching a suspicious house.

The apprehended suspect is 23 years of age. The accused together with drugs was handed over to the Norochcholai Police for onward legal action.
