Navy renders assistance to nab 02 suspects with Kerala cannabis

The Navy nabbed 02 suspects who were transporting Kerala cannabis for sale, during a coordinated operation conducted with the Police Narcotics Bureau, at Kattikudirippu area in Pesalai, Mannar on 30^th March 2020.

SL Navy which is immensely contributing in the coronavirus containment process, continues the drug prevention operations also. Accordingly, Navy has spotted a suspicious motor bike on run, during a coordinated search operation conducted with the Police Narcotics Bureau-Mannar, at Kattikudirippu area in Pesalai, Mannar on 30^th March 2020. During further search, Navy managed to find 50g of Kerala cannabis in the possession of two suspects on the bike. Accordingly, they were taken into custody, along with cannabis.

The apprehended persons have been identified as residents of the same area, aged 19 and 23. The suspects, motor bike and amount of Kerala cannabis were handed over to Pesalai Police for further investigation. Amidst the disastrous situation in the country, Navy continuous patrols to bring such smugglers before law.
