Navy apprehends 03 persons for breaching curfew laws
The Navy on 29th March 2020 apprehended 03 persons for breaching curfew laws at a roadblock in Arugam Bay area.
A group of naval personnel attached to the Southeastern Naval Command had apprehended 03 persons who violated curfew laws that have been imposed island wide to control the COVID – 19 outbreak and for the safety of the general public. The suspects were traveling on three motorbikes and were taken into custody by naval personnel who were on duty at the Arugam Bay roadblock. They are residents of Pottuvil, aged 24, 35 and 39 and were handed over to the Pottuvil Police for further investigation.
At a time when it is the people's concern and responsibility to support the government's programmes to control the spread of coronavirus within the country, the Navy will continue to take action against those who are irresponsible and reckless in this testing times.
