Navy helps to clean water sources of Iranawila quarantine center
The Navy on 27th March 2020 rendered assistance to clean the well which is used to supply water to the quarantine center established in Iranawila.
Sri Lanka Navy is constantly contributing to the government's efforts to control the spread of the new coronavirus in the country. According to the request made by the District Secretary of Puttalam, this water source was cleaned by a group of naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command. The initiative got off the ground following the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva and supervision of Commander Northwestern Naval Area, Rear Admiral DKP Dassanayake. Naval personnel engaged in the task made concerted effort in this regard to provide safe drinking water to the quarantine centre.
Sri Lanka Navy has been working diligently and consistently to take every possible steps to control the spread of the virus in the country and make sure the safety of the public, at a time when the world is at risk due to this deadly virus.
