Navy discovers a hand grenade from Murunkan

Sri Lanka Navy on 27^th March 2020 conducted a search operation in the Murunkan area and found a corroded hand grenade at the bund of Yodha wewa (Giant's Tank).

A group of naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command, during a search operation conducted in the Murunkan area, found this corroded hand grenade cast off at the bund of Giant's Tank. The grenade was later confirmed to be an M75 type live grenade and it was handed over to the Adampan Police for further investigation.
