Navy holds a suspicious dinghy
Navy held a suspicious dinghy during a search operation conducted at the Jayanagar beach area on 25th March 2020.
SL Navy frequently conducts search operations in order to preserve the marine eco system and accordingly, a group of naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command had observed a landed suspicious dinghy during a search operation conducted at the Jayanagar beach area on 25th March 2020. By further search, it was revealed that the dinghy had been used for illegal fishing using explosive. Due to the Naval raid persons engaged in illegal fishing might have abandoned the dinghy and escaped. The dinghy and other fishing gear were taken into Naval custody.
The apprehended dinghy, unidentified explosive and other fishing gear were handed over to Kuchchaweli Police for further investigation.
