An Indian and two suspects possessed Kerala cannabis apprehended by Navy at Ponnalai road block
Navy apprehended an Indian and two suspects who possessed Kerala cannabis while search of two suspicious motor bikes at the Ponnalai road block in Jaffna, on 24th March 2020.
A team of Naval personnel attached to the Northern Naval Command had observed a suspicious person who was on a motor bike and by search of the person it was revealed that he was an Indian staying in Sri Lanka on tourist visa. By further search on him, a local driving license was found and accordingly he along with the motor bike was taken into Naval custody.
Meanwhile, in searching another suspicious motor bike, about 25g of Kerala cannabis was found in the possession of two persons travelling on the bike. Those two persons with the motor bike were also apprehended by Navy.
The apprehended Indian is a resident of Tamilnadu area in India aged 48 and other two suspects are residents of Karainagar-Jaffna and Kondavil(West) areas aged 30 and 43. The Indian, other two suspects along with the amount of KG and two motor bikes were handed over to Waddukodai Police for further investigation.
