Craft at Galle harbour sterilized by Navy
It its attempt to stop the spread the novel coronavirus in the island, Sri Lanka Navy sterilized craft moored at Galle harbour on 22nd March 2020.
Sri Lanka Navy is constantly working to strengthen the government's efforts to control the spread of the deadly virus in the country. Marking the successful culmination of yet another sterilization programme organized by the Southern Naval Command, the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Unit of the Navy executed this disinfection programme onboard craft at the Galle harbour. The programme was conducted under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva and supervision of Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul. The prime motive of the programme was to disinfect the craft, preventing the virus to enter the country.
The Sri Lanka Navy has been working diligently and consistently to take every possible step to arrest the spread and control the virus in the country, while ensuring the safety of the public at a time when the world is at risk of this deadly virus.
