Foreign Employment Bureau donates utensils to Navy for using in Quarantine Centres
A stock of utensils to be used in the quarantine centres set up for controlling the spread of coronavirus in the country, was donated to the Navy by a group of representatives of Foreign Employment Bureau of Sri Lanka at Eastern Naval Command Headquarters in Trincomalee, today(21st March 2020).
Under the directives of the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva SL Navy is conducting number of programmes in assistance to the government's campaign against the spreading of new coronavirus and it is being supported with finance and material by the government as well as private sector firms. Accordingly, a group of representatives of Foreign Employment Bureau of Sri Lanka under the directives of its Chairman Mr. Kamal Rathwatte , donated 139 steel beds, 200 mattresses, 100 plastic chairs, 02 chair settee and 59 mosquito nets to the Navy, to be used in Quarantine Centres.
The donation was received by the Deputy Area Commander Commodore Sanjeewa Dias and the stock of utensils were promptly sent off to a quarantine centre due to be opened soon at Sampoor area.
