Navy sterilizes Fort Railway Station and Colombo Dockyard premises

Sri Lanka Navy took initiative to sterilize of the Fort Railway Station and Colombo Dockyard premises, under the Navy's sterilization programme conducted to stop the spreading of new Corona virus, on 19th March 2020.

Accordingly, under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Siva, Navy’s Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Unit engaged to sterilize the Colombo Fort Railway Station where lots of people crowded daily. During the campaign, all platforms and other places of the station were fully sterilized. Further, responding to a request made by Administrative body of the Colombo Dockyard Ltd. Office premises, working sites and other places surrounded by the servants in CDL premises were sterilized following the accepted technical and scientific procedures.

SL Navy is vigilant to continue such sterilization programmes further as required, in a bid to suppress the spreading of new Corona virus.
