Person with heroin nabbed by Navy

During a joint operation conducted in Pesalai area by Sri Lanka Navy and Mannar Police Narcotic Bureau, a person with heroin was apprehended on 18^th March 2020.

Another drug prevention operation was carried out by the naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command with officials of Mannar Police Narcotic Bureau, had detected a suspicious person and found about 420mg of heroin in his possession. The apprehension was made while the suspect was transporting this amount of heroin for sale.

The accused has been identified as a resident of the same area, aged 45. Meanwhile, the suspect along with heroin was handed over to the Pesalai Police for further investigation.
