Illicit arrack den in Jinnapuram raided by Navy

The Navy carried out a raid on an illicit arrack den in Jinnapuram, Pulmoddai and found equipment used to brew arrack, on 16^th March 2020.

A group of naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command, during a foot patrol in Jinnapuram, Pulmoddai, had spotted a smoke billowed from nearby thicket. During further search, the naval personnel on patrol managed to find a location where Illicit arrack being distilled. The Navy also seized a 20 l can full of moonshine, plastic barrel and several other equipment.

The items are believed to have been left behind by the suspects as a result of naval investigations in the area. The seized items were handed over to the Pulmoddai Police for onward action.
