SLNS Dakshina celebrates 28th anniversary on grand note

The 28^th anniversary of SLNS Dakshina which fell on 09^th March this year was celebrated on grand note. To mark the anniversary celebrations, several religious events and Corporate Social Responsibility projects had been organized by the crew of SLNS Dakshina, under the guidance of its Commanding Officer, Captain Nadith Walpola.

Accordingly, the children’s homes of ‘Sambodhi’ in Galle was cleaned and the inmate children were provided lunch. Further, the Commanding Officer inspected divisions in the morning on 9^th March and addressed the crew members urging them to lead their naval career in a dignified manner.

Subsequent to the inspection of divisions, the age old naval tradition of having meals-‘Barakana’ was held and it was presided over by Deputy Area Commander Southern Naval Area flanked by a cross section of officers, sailors and civil servants.
