Several programmes conducted in Southern Naval Command under 'Green and Blue Drive'

The Navy launched several beach clean-up programmes under the 'Green and Blue Drive' at Galle, Dikwella and Hambantota areas in the Southern Naval Command, on 07th March 2020.

Going by the vicenary concept ' Green and Blue Drive' of the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, under the supervision of Commander Southern Naval Area Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul, the roadsides of Galle -Matara main road from SLNS Dakshina to Galle town, Dikwella beach area and Idiwinna beach area in Hambanthota were cleaned by the Navy personnel.

The beaches which had been polluted due to a number of human activities and natural causes were restored to their previous status with the participation of large number of officers and sailors in Southern Naval Command.

Further, SL Navy will be conducting continuous activities in view of conserving natural environment following the 'Green and Blue Drive' concept mooted by Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva.
