Table Top Exercise 2020 held in Trincomalee
Table Top Exercise (TTX 2020) organized by the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla under the theme of “Conquering Threats Through Collaboration” was held at Dockyard in Trincomalee on 27th and 28th February 2020. The Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Ruwan Perera graced the event as the Chief Guest.
The aim of TTX 2020 was to provide opportunities for participants to understand and respond to various contingencies, integration of capabilities, problem identification with suitable solutions and enhancing knowledge of young officers. Representatives from Sri Lanka Navy, Coast Guard, Police Narcotic Bureau and Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources attended the event.
Illegal Unreported and Unregulated fishing (IUU fishing) as a serious threat to the sustainability of the fisheries, eradicating the narcotic peril from the country, United Nation Convention on the law of the Sea (UNCLOS) were the concerned subjects during the two days exercise.
On the first day, experts from Police Narcotic Bureau, Sri Lanka Navy and Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources enlightened the participants' knowledge by delivering fruitful lectures on concerned areas of exercise and the second day exercise was held by discussing solutions for hypothetical situations connected to subject matters.
