Navy recovers anti-personnel mine at Wadduvakal beach

SL Navy recovered an anti-personnel mine at Wadduvakal beach in Mulativu, today (27^th February 2020).

In view of conserving the marine ecosystem Navy regularly conducts beach cleaning activities. During such beach cleaning programme at Wadduvakal beach in Mulativu, this anti-personnel mine was recovered and it was taken into naval custody. The mine is believed to be one produced by the LTTE.

The recovered mine has been kept in safe custody of the Navy for further investigation.
