Navy apprehends person in possession of Kerala Cannabis

The Navy, in coordination with Excise Station-Shankane, recovered 21kg and 510g of Kerala Cannabis at Thambalai area in Point Pedro on 25^th February 2020.

Sri Lanka Navy has been contributing in apprehension of illegal drugs and drug traffickers, regularly. Accordingly, 21kg and 510g of Kerala Cannabis which were hidden in a shrubby land were recovered, during a joint search conducted by the Navy and Excise Station- Shankane. A suspect and a motor bike were also taken into Naval custody there.

The apprehended person has been identified as a resident of Anthonypuram in Palali. Further investigation on the haul of Kerala cannabis, suspect and motor bike, is conducted by Excise Station- Shankane.
