Navy raids four illegal cannabis chenas

Four (04) cannabis chenas were discovered during a search operation conducted by the Navy at Baluganthalawa area in Yala, on 25^th February 2020.

As an extension of Navy’s continuous involvement into the drug prevention operations, this search was carried out at Baluganthalawa area in Yala. While the operation these four cannabis chenas which had been grown secretly, were discovered by Naval troops and it was informed to the Police STF-Katharagama and to Wildlife Conservation Department. The cannabis plants which had grown 01 to 06 feet high, were destroyed by putting on fire.

Further investigations are conducted by Police STF-Katharagama and Department of Wildlife Conservation.
