Commander of the Navy visits Northern Naval Command
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva made a visit to the Northern Naval Command from 22nd to 24th February 2020.
As part of the visit, the Navy Commander inspected the ongoing construction work of the new jetty at Kankasanthurei harbour. Deputy Chief of Staff and Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera and a group of officers undertaking the project were also present on this occasion. Meanwhile, the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Arundathi Udithamala Jayaneththi and Rear Admiral Samaraweera laid foundation stones for a new building to be constructed for the yoghurt project of SLNS Uththara, operated under NSVU.
The occasion was also attended by Commanding Officer SLNS Uththara, officers and a group of senior and junior sailors.
