Navy renders assistance to inter school sea swimming championship

Sri Lanka Navy on 21^st February 2020 rendered assistance for the conduct of an inter school sea swimming championship held in view of the 70^th anniversary of Madampa Central College, Galle.

Over 300 swimmers representing Schools Island wide, swam 02 miles in this sea swimming championship held off Ambalangoda shores. Upon the request of the Principal of Madampa Central College, Navy’s Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Unit (4RU) personnel, 02 rescue boats and medical assistants had also been attached for the safety of the contestants, following the directives of Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kssapa Paul.

Further, the Navy remains standby to assist the general public at all times, as and when the Navy’s presence is needed.
