Navy apprehends two persons for loading sand without permit

A team of Naval personnel apprehended two persons for illegal loading of sand, during a raid carried out at Sembalthetti area in Trincomalee, on 20^th February 2020.

Sri Lanka Navy regularly conducts operations to curb the illegal activities and as an extension of it , a team of Naval personnel attached to Eastern Naval Command apprehend these two(02) persons who were loading sand without a permit. The suspects were identified as residents of Warakapola and Dehiwatta areas aged 25 and 37.

A truck, tractor with trailer used by them and 04 cubes of mined sand were also taken into Naval custody.

The suspects, truck, tractor and sand were handed over to Muthur Police for onward legal action.
