The needy receive a range of welfare provisions from NSVU

A welfare programme initiated by the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), under the auspices of the President of the NSVU, Mrs. Arundathi Udithamala Jayaneththi got off the ground at the Naval Headquarters on 11^th February 2020.

Going by an idea mooted by the NSVU President, this programme has been organized to distribute a wide range of welfare provisions among naval personnel and civil staff employees in the Navy. The funds needed for these provisions were provided by the NSVU.

As part of this programme, Mr. RM Ananda who is employed as a civil staffer in the Navy received Rs. 300,000 to renovate his temporarily constructed wooden house. Further, school supplies needed for 03 children of former Navy Writer TGG Sanjeewa SW 32101 were also donated by the NSVU President. Meanwhile, the ‘Pirikara’ for the 1st year death anniversary almsgiving of late Able Seaman NAT Karanarathna VA 66577 was also donated on this occasion.

The Executive Committee members of the NSVU Mrs. Chandani Samaraweera, Mrs. Kumari Weerasinghe, Mrs. Yasintha Wijesekara and the staff members of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit were present on this occasion.
