Array of programmes organized to promote camaraderie between navies of India and Sri Lanka
An array of programmes organized to promote camaraderie between the crew of Indian Navy Ship (INS) ‘Jamuna’ and Sri Lanka Navy, took place on 07th February 2020. The INS ‘Jamuna’ arrived in Sri Lanka to undertake a hydrographic survey.
Further, the Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain HA Hardas called on Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe at the Western Naval Command Headquarters on 07th February. They held a cordial discussion on several matters of bilateral importance and exchanged mementoes to signify the importance of the occasion.
Meanwhile, the crew members of INS ‘Jamuna’ played a friendly basketball and a volleyball match with Sri Lanka Navy teams at Welisara Naval Complex. Players from both teams demonstrated their impressive sporting abilities in the games while upholding the spirit of sportsmanship.
