Suspect apprehended with locally made gun

The Navy apprehended a suspect with a locally made gun, during a search conducted with the Mannar Division Vice Squad in Mannar on 07^th February 2020.

As part of the Navy’s is regular operations conducted in prevention of illegal acts, this search operation was carried out at Illuppakaddawai in Mannar and a suspect in possession of a locally made muzzle loader gun, without having a license was apprehended.

The suspect has been identified as a resident of the same area, aged 25. The accused along with the locally made gun was handed over to the Illuppakaddawai Police for onward action.
